Oriana Georgiana Reinagle, Drawing of a tree with notes on how to draw branches

Drawing of a tree with notes on how to draw branches

Attributed to Oriana Georgiana Reinagle (1794 - 1875)

RA Collection: Art

A pencil drawing of a tall tree with its branches marked at each division and an annotated drawing of a how to draw a branch below. This is very similar to other drawings in the Royal Academy collection by Oriana Georgiana Reinagle, daughter of Phillip Reinagle, and is probably based on J.D. Harding's system for drawing trees. Oriana Reinagle might have been teaching someone to draw or developing her own variation of the system.
