Design for north front window with segemental head, centre first floor, onto staircase, Burlington House, Piccadilly, Westminster, London: elevation, c.1816

Samuel Ware (1781 - 1860)

RA Collection: Art

This design shows a Palladian window with a segmental arched window head, an alternative to the pedimented window head of drawing RA 06/4595. On the verso is a light pencil sketch of a plan, unidentified but probably related. This drawing relates to RA 06/4481 which shows the internal elevation of this window design. This design is as executed, although the ornamentation of egg and dart does not seem to have been included.
