Sir George Clausen RA, Barn interior with colour wash

Barn interior with colour wash

Sir George Clausen RA (1852 - 1944)

RA Collection: Art

In this drawing of a barn interior, part of the scene has been painted with a dark brown wash, probably to indicate regions of deep shadow. Clausen began to exhibit paintings of barn interiors as a motif from 1897 until well into the 1930s.
