Sir George Clausen RA (1852 - 1944)

In this sketch of a barn interior, the side of the pencil has been used to indicate areas of shadow between the beams. There is a sketch of a strut on the verso. Clausen began to exhibit paintings of barn interiors as a motif from 1897 until well into the 1930s.
