This cast was taken is a marble head which is now in the British Museum. The original bust is from a statue of Apollo which is a Roman work dated about 120-140 which itself was based on a lost Greek bronze original of the 5th Century BC.

The bust in the British Museum originally in the collection of the Giustiniani Palace in Rome.
