The drawing depicts a girl wearing a dress with a band in her hair, seated on a chair with her left hand holding her chin as she reads a book in front of her. The work is attributed to the illustrator and painter Frederick Walker and was bequeathed to the Royal Academy by the artist Carel Weight RA, along with two other works by Walker (03/1405 and 03/1415).
