A collection of 12 contemporary photographs of sculpture by Francis Derwent Wood R.A. which includes this photograph [07/3637] by F. Hilaire d'Arcis, of a sketch model of Ambrose McEvoy R.A. It has a handwritten inscription 'To K.P. from F.Derwent Wood. 1915'. This photograph probably shows the sketch for the bronze bust exhibited at the Royal Academy in 1915, cat.1792. A copy of which is in the Royal Academy's collection, (03/1704). Derwent Wood possibly knew McEvoy through a Slade connection, having been an assistant to Alphonse Legros at the Slade 1890-1892.
