The Royal Academy's collection of drawings by Solomon Hart includes a large number of studies of historic or decorative doorways, fireplaces and ceilings. One of these drawings (03/7345), showing an historic carved stone fireplace from Wells, features in the background of his Academy Diploma work entitled 'An Early Reading of Shakespeare' (1838).
