Physical Description

2 vols.: mounted plates 577 mm.

General Note

This work is a two volume collection of mounted facsimiles of drawings by Leonardo da Vinci held in the Royal Library at Windsor. The title is taken from the spine title; there are, otherwise, no identifying publication details. The only letterpress material is a loose sheet tipped in at the front of each volume listing the 100 images by Leonardo da Vinci (as well as listing prints by Raphael (17) and Michel Angelo [sic] (36); Italian, French and German (40) - none of which are in these two volumes but perhaps formed two different publications similar in presentation). Vol. I contains plates 1-50 and Vol. II contains plates 51-100. The mount of each facsimile has a pair of rulled lines around the facsimiles and a doubled-ruled box below the image with the artist's name.

Binding Note

The binding is green cloth and green quarter-bound leather with the spines lettered in gilt, 'Leonardo Da Vinci / Vol. I [II]', 'Facsimiles Of Drawings In The Royal Library At Windsor' and 'R. A.'
