Responsibility Note

The frontispiece portrait of Le Clerc in the second volume is signed as engraved by J. Sturt. The other plates, and the title-plate and title-page vignettes, are unsigned.

The four engraved dedications in the second volume are from John Sturt to the Companies of Masons, Bricklayers, Joyners and Carpenters.

The work had been first published in French in 1714; in English, in 1723.
