RA Collection: People and Organisations
Company founded in the 1896 by John Sherratt and Ernest Hughes. Sherratt focused on the printing and publishing side of the business whilst Hughes concentrated on selling new antiquarian books. In 1905 they opened Sherratt and Hughes bookshop in St Anne's Square, Manchester. The bookshop was later taken over by Waterstones.
