William Hughes (1793 - 1825)

Wood engraver; pupil of Henry Hole in Liverpool; worked in London, 1819-1822, in partnership with the printer Charles Whittingham the Elder. 1817 appointed ‘engraver in wood’ to the Prince Regent. He died at Lambeth aged 32.
