Wanda Wieser
Wieser Previously studied Fine Art and History of Art at Goldsmiths University, London.
Wieser predominantly works with sculpture, print, collage and video. Recent works have included aluminous cement, copper, wax, salt and fabric.
Research into philosophies of alchemy or geological processes stimulate the work. Wieser is interested in how ideas and principles from alchemy and geology resonate with what it means to be human and to be conscious.
Wieser’s work is a constant oscillation between geological histories, the human mind and body, alchemical, spiritual belief and meaning. These elements act as tools for the artist to reflect on and nurture sense of calm.
