Vanessa Bell (née Stephen) was an English painter and interior designer, a member of the Bloomsbury Group.
Daughter of lexicographer Sir Leslie Stephen (1832-1904); sister of essayist and novelist Virginia Woolf (née Stephen) (1882-1941); married art-critic A.C.H. Bell (1881-1964) in 1907; mother of Julian Bell (1908-37), art historian and potter Quentin C.S. Bell (190-96) and Angelica Vanessa Garnett (née Bell) 1918-2012).
