Presented bills for books bought by Royal Academy in 1770 (22 March £4 3s.6 d.); 1773 (April £2 11s.6d.; July £6 for ‘Universal History’); 1776 (23 July £4 14s.6d.; Nov. £11 4s.6d.); 1777 (4 Feb. ’… on acc[oun]t £50’).
Went bankrupt in 1778, but reinstated through help mobilised by Dr. Johnson.
