Theodor Richard Edward von Holst (1810 - 1844)

Painter and illustrator. Holst joined the RA schools in 1824 and, influenced by Fuseli, became a painter of literary subjects. He was son of the musician Matthias von Holst and great-uncle of the composer Gustav Holst. He lived in London and travelled in Germany.
