Maud Clayton Palmer, painter; in 1915 became the second wife of Stanhope Alexander Forbes, RA, two years after the death of his first wife, Elizabeth Adela Forbes. She was a former pupil of the art school established by the Forbeses in Newlyn, Cornwall in 1899. She exhibited at the RA; as Maude C Palmer, in 1903, 1911-15; as Maude C. Stanhope Forbes in 1916; as Maude Stanhope Forbes in 1930, 1932, 1934, 1938 and 1943 and as Maude S. Forbes in 1948.
