Mary Cozens-Walker (1938 - 2020)

English textile artist and painter best known for her three-dimensional works pertaining to her own domestic life.

She was educated at North London Collegiate School, London, where she was taught by the artist Peggy Angus (1904- 1993), and the Slade School of Art, where her contemporaries included Mario Dubsky, Dorothy Mead, Dennis Creffield, Ben Levene RA, Patrick Procktor RA and Anthony Green RA. Her tutors at the Slade included William Coldstream, Cecil Beaton, Lucian Freud, L.S. Lowry and David Bomberg.

She married Anthony Green RA in 1961 and was the main subject of his paintings for the next sixty years.

She exhibited in the United Kingdom, Japan, and the United States. Her work is in the collections of the Setagaya Art Museum, Tokyo; Arts Council of Great Britain, London and the Sainsbury Centre for Visual Arts, Norwich.
