Lewis Vulliamy (1791 - 1871)

Eclectic architect; worked throughout Britain. Entered Royal Academy schools 1809, won its silver medal 1810, gold 1813, travelling scholarship 1818; exhibited at the Academy from 1822 onwards. Son of clockmaker Benjamin Vulliamy (1747-1811); brother of clockmaker Benjamin Lewis Vulliamy (1780-1854); uncle of architect and civil engineer George John Vulliamy (1817-86).
