Lene Vollhardt

Lene Vollhardt (b. 1988, New York, USA) previously studied at University of Art Karlsruhe. In performances, moving image, choreography, objects, installations and in markings, Vollhardt explores the bodies’ inscriptions of control. She often relates to her practice through the embodiment and animation of concepts and feelings. Through her practice spanning modified every-day apparel, dance, automatic writing, guided meditation and publishing, to working with latex, textile and metal to create movement apparatuses, Vollhardt instigates the body as vehicle of pleasure, liberation, illness, death and interconnectedness.
