John Stanesby (1786 - 1864)

John Stanesby worked as a painter for Derby porcelain manufacturers, leaving c.1808 to practice as a portrait painter. He was known for painting roses and carried on painting on ceramics after he moved to London. (See Twitchett, Murdoch and Twitchett, Barrett & Thorne, Lit Mat).
