Politician, and author, in Britain. In 1658 succeeded his father as 3rd Earl of Mulgrave; in 1694 was created Marquess of Normanby; in 1703 was created Duke of Buckingham and Normanby. Son of Edmund Sheffield, 2nd Earl of Mulgrave (1611-58).
