Printer and publisher, originally financed by William Roscoe. Active in Liverpool from 1792 and moved to London in 1805, subsequently working for the publishers Cadell & Davies, and Longman’s & Payne. Trade card in Banks Collection (Banks,99.28+) advertises “J. McCreery, Printer, (Late of Liverpool) Black-Horse Court… Specimens of Fine Printing may be seen at the Office. 1805.” [Source: BM biographical entry].
