John Frearson (c.1761 - 1835)

RA Collection: People and Organisations

Landscape and history painter; arts administrator. It seems Frearson held some sort of position in the Painting School of the Royal Academy. He makes a formal complaint about the behaviour of the students in 1827 and his retirement through ill-health is noted in 1834 (RAA/PC/1/8, p.132). However, thus far no evidence has surfaced that he was officially appointed or paid.
