James Notman (1849 - 1932)

Photographer, younger brother of the photographer William Notman. James Notman established a studio at 99 Boylston Street, Boston around 1877. Using the latest in photographic techniques (dry plates) and equipment (electric lights), he notably photographed visiting celebrities and theatrical perfomances.

His brother also established a studio at Park Street, Boston with Thomas Campbell.
