Jack Killick

Jack Killick previously studied at The Slade School of Art.

“Perhaps, when you are on the telephone and your head is concentrating on the conversation but your hand is kept busy by making a drawing, what kind of imagery appears from those drawings? Patterns perhaps, repetitive looping and returning of the line like writing in tongues.”

Killick’s work often grows from these moments of unthinking. Small, idle gestures are scaled up into large sculptural installations or painted environments that dwarf the viewer, creating a tension between scale and subject, amoebic doodles given mass.
