Henry Dixon (1820 - 1893)

RA Collection: People and Organisations

Photographer. Active from 1860. As with many other photographers from the period, Henry Dixon (1820-1893) originally trained as a printer. Though, perhaps, best known today for his photography for the Society for Preserving Relics of Old London, Dixon also successfully developed a business photographing Fine Art. The company Dixon and Son was founded in 1887 and was probably active until the end of the 1930s, though Pritchard lists 112 Albany Street as the address of Henry Dixon and Son until 1908.
