Heinrich Friedrich Füger (1751 - 1818)

Portrait- and history-painter, draughtsman; arts administrator. Active at Ludwigsburg, Halle, Leipzig, Dresden, Vienna; visited Rome (1776-81) and Naples. Füger returned in 1783 to Vienna, where he became Vice-Director of the Akademie der Bildenden Künste, subsequently becoming its Director in 1795, until 1806.
