Sources differ on Harold Knight’s excact date of birth. The DNB and Tate Gallery state that he was born on 27 January 1874. Benezit gives his date of birth as 27 October 1874 and Waters as 27 October 1874. However, in a letter in the Royal Academy Archives to Sir Walter Lamb acknowledging his election as an Associate, he gives his date of birth as 27 January 1874. [RAA/SEC/10/42/1]
