Frederic B. Schell was an illustrator for the American publications Harper’s Weekly & Frank Leslie’s Illustrated News. He was recruited to be the Superintendent of the Art Department for the Picturesque Atlas of Australia (1888). His albums of photographs collected while in Australia now reside in the Yale University Art Gallery.
