Ewan MacFarlane (b. 1988) gained a BA at Central St Martins in 2010.
Macfarlane asks us to dissect the objects and stories of our collective obsession. He questions our desire to be young, glamorous and hip as in turn he questions that very desire in himself.
Refusing to be outed as either an outright iconoclast nor an explicit believer, Macfarlane sits on a fence and interrogates our search for meaning through objects, status and experience. His multimedia juxtapositions analyse our penchant for narrative, and the extent to which it infiltrates our behaviours, our strategies and our dreams.
