Gunnis gives his date of death as 9 November 1882, the Notice to Members states the 10th. According to Gunnis he won a Royal Academy Schools Silver Medal in 1837 and re-entered the Schools in 1842. The Premiums Register lists only a Gold Medal in 1843. He executed the statues of Leonardo, Wren and Reynolds on the façade of Burlington House in 1873.
