Caroline Abbotts (b. 1988)

Caroline Abbotts (b. 1988 Derbyshire, England) previously studied at Central Saint Martins School of Art.

Abbotts combines and collects materials from both the chemical and the natural world creating reactive environments. Light sensitive photograms may coexist with rockpools. The works build their own material ecology. Habitats are formed, threaded together by narratives that contemplate the measurable and immeasurable. Scientific observations become transient objects subject to environmental conditions. Works may oxidise, fade or reproduce at any moment.
