Archer William Hoskings (1868 - 1912)

Architect. Born in Sydney, NSW, Australia on 21 May 1868. In 1888, Hoskings travelled to England and obtained a position as assistant to architect Charles Barry Jnr (1823-1900). On 11th July 1889 he enrolled in the Royal Academy Schools to study architecture. He was recommended by Charles Barry. He was admitted as an Associate of the Royal Institute of British Architects (ARIBA) in 1889. He returned to Australia by 1892.
