Apollonius (fl. ca. 100 BC-1 BC)

Apollonius (1st century BC), is known only by his signatures on the marble Belvedere Torso in the Vatican (as cast of which is in the RA collection) and the bronze Boxer now in the Museo Nazionale Romano, Rome. Once believed to be original works, these are now believed to be copies of earlier sculptures.
