She was the daughter of Thomas Philip Robinson, 2nd Earl de Grey of Wrest and Lady Henrietta Frances Cole. She married George Augustus Frederick Cowper, 6th Earl Cowper. As a result of her marriage, Anne Florence de Grey, Baroness Lucas was styled as Countess Cowper on 21 June 1837.
