Scottish painter and artist, born in Kilcreggan, Argyll and Bute, West of Scotland. The family moved to Middlesex in 1909.
She studied sculpture at the Royal Academy Schools between 1917 and 1923, winning silver and bronze medals, and first exhibited at the Royal Academy in 1919. Sister of the theatrical stage and costume designer, painter, commercial artist, and writer, Doris Zinkeisen (1898-1991), who also studied at the RA Schools together with her sister from 1917-23.
