RA Schools student from 19 February 1925 to February 1930. Recommended by G.R. Woolway. Awarded the Silver medal for a set of four drawings of a figure from life in 1926.

Moved to India in 1938 and worked as an official war artist there from 1942-45, working for the Department of External affairs, with the rank of 2nd Lieutenant. Returned to England in 1953.

Exhibited RA Summer Exhibition, Royal West of England Academy, University of Exeter (solo), University of Kent (solo), Wheal Martyn China Clay Museum, and many group shows. Work in collection of University of Exeter and Leicestershire County Council.
