Alice Erichsen (1855 - 1944)

Alice Erichsen, the daughter of Hermann Erichsen, a Danish businessman who had settled first in Newcastle, then in Tooting, where Alice met her husband, Edgar Lucas (1845-1932). She made successful translations from the Danish of Hans Christian Andersen and Henrik Pontoppidan. Her sister was the artist and illustrator Nelly Erichsen (1862-1918).
