Alex Clarke (b.1988, Nottingham, England) previously studied at Central Saint Martins.
Clarke creates groups of paintings which, through a process of continuous making, editing and re-arranging build a social dynamic of relationships, support networks, dialogues, fictions, ideas, counter-ideas across painting to painting. The ideas in question arise across a group, these might be of attitude or feelings or emotions, but the very notion, hope and aspirations of making a painting at all come to act as anchor to the whole discussion.
