Ada Harrison (1899 - 1958)

Writer, born in South Africa, and lived in London.

Harrison studied modern and medieval literatures at Newnham College, Cambridge, 1918-1921.

In 1922 she published her first book, Some Tuscan Cities 1922. In July of 1924 she married the artist Robert Austin RA (1895 - 1973), whom she had met earlier in Italy, and they returned to England in 1926. They settled in a house on Chiswick, overlooking the Thames, and eventually would have a son and two daughters.

She collaborated with her husband on several of her books, with Austin providingg the illustrations, examples of which can be found in the Royal Academy of Arts Library
