The frontispiece is signed 'Iulio B. F.'. The plate at p.65 is unsigned; that at p.95 is signed as painted by Christoph. Allori and engraved by Vin. Franceschini; that at p.109 is signed as drawn and engraved by Francesco Zuccherelli.

One of the in-text illustrations or decorations is signed as drawn by 'I.M.', and one by Philid. Rossi; most are signed as engraved by 'V.F.', one as engraved by Franco. Mazzoni.

The work is dedicated by A.F. Gori to Marchese Andrea Gerini.

Summary Note

The publication-date of 1746 is given on the title-page, but the plate at p. 109 carries the date 1747. The work was originally published in 1553.

The frontispiece is a portrait of Michelangelo; pl. [1] (p.65) shows his tomb at Florence; pl. [2] (p.95), his nephew; pl. [3] (p.109), a sculpture by Michelangelo.

18th-century mottled calf; rebacked in 20th century, black morocco spine-label lettered 'Condivi - Vita Di Michelagnolo', spine lettered 'R.A.' and '1746'.
