The plates are dated between 1779 and 1786. The title page is engraved and has been included in the number of plates. Issued in parts. The second leaf as bound in this volume contains an index page, and a page of errata. With a list of subscribers bound at the end.

All the plates are engraved by William Watts, after paintings by William Tomkins, Richard Wilson RA, George Barret RA, John Inigo Richards RA, C. Metz, William Hodges RA, Mr Stewart, and Michael Angelo Rooker ARA; and after drawings by William Watts himself, and Thomas Malton the younger, Paul Sandby RA, John Claude Nattes, William Beilby, T. Provenance

The front pastedown carries an armorial bookplate with 'Scandit Sublimis Virtus' 'Denis Lindsay Corkery'. In the upper right-hand corner of the recto of a front loose end paper is inscribed in ink 'Wilfred Ashley' with an added note in pencil in another hand '[Created Lord Mount Temple. Minister of Transport 1924-1929]'. In the centre of the same end paper is inscribed in ink 'Denis Corkery - 12th October 1954.'

Binding Note

Spine lettered in gilt lettering 'Views Seats Nobility Gentry' and 'Watts'.
