Summary Note

No publication-date is given; but A. Griffiths records that the work was entered in the Term Catalogue for November 1671 by Thomas Thornicroft.

The first plate shows the effigy of the Duke of Albemarle lying in state at Somerset House; the last, unnumbered plate shows his effigy lying in state at Westminster Abbey. Plates 2-20 show the funeral procession at Westminster Abbey. Plate 8 includes a representation of Francis Sandford walking in the procession as Rouge Dragon.

Provenance

The front pastedown carries the armorial book-plate of John Arden. This is inscribed in ink, '1819'.

Binding Note

17th-century calf, upper and lower covers gilt-stamped with armorial device; rebacked and recornered in 20th century. Boxed.
