Responsibility Note

The author was Richard Duppa (1768-1831), whose The Life and Literary Works of Michael Angelo Buonarotti, with his Poetry and Letters first appeared in 1806 (2nd. ed. 1807, 3rd. ed. 1816).

The printer's name is repeated in the colophon.


The first, blank page is inscribed in ink, 'Mrs Maria Graham from the Publisher', and in another hand, 'Bequest of Sr Augustus W. Callcott.' [Mrs. Maria Graham was widowed in 1822, and in 1827 married Augustus Wall Callcott.]

Binding Note

19th-century calf, rebacked in 20th century, retaining earlier spine-piece; black morocco spine-label lettered 'Duppa's Life Of Raffaello'.
