General Note

Volumes 1 and 2 were issued in 10 parts; volume 3 in a folio portfolio. The three volumes have been bound uniformly in this collection. The original German text was translated by William Grétor. Volume one, published in 1907, contains 44 pages of text and illustrations accompanied by plates I-XC. Volume II, published in 1908, contains 47 pages of text and illustrations which includes various tables of contents and the list of plates in volumes I and II; volume II has plates XCI-CLXXX. Volume III, published in 1912, contains 35 pages of text and illustrations including the list of plates in that volume (numbered CLXXXI-CCLXVI). The half-title page of volume III includes a subtitle, 'Masters of the late Renaissance'.

Binding Note

The volumes are bound in fawn cloth with black lettering on the spine, 'W. Bode The Italian Bronze Statuettes Vol. I[-III]' and 'R.A.'
