The first volume of the series. Originally published in parts (1813-1815). Printer statement on verso of title-page: C. Whittingham, Printer, Chiswick. The additional wood-engraved title-plate has the title set within a quatrefoil panel from the Chapter House with 'Cathedral Antiquities' set in a block above. Plate XV is bound as the frontispiece. Most of the engraved plates were by J. and H. Le Keux after F. Mackenzie.
