The front free endpaper carries a letter on Caradoc Press headed paper inscribed: "The Secretary, The Royal Academy of Arts. Dear Sirs, Mr Frank Brangwyn presents his compliments to the Council and trusts they will accept the accompanying work for the Library of the Royal Academy. Yours faithfully, H. Geo. Webb." And in another hand: "Acknowledged 14 March 1910. W.F.Y. [i.e. William Frederick Yeames RA, Librarian 1896-1911]"
The front pastedown carries a 20th century Royal Academy bookplate inscribed in pencil 'Presented by the author 1910'
