Purchased in 1868 (see 'Report on the Library', RA Annual Report for 1868, Appendix No. 6, p. 31). The verso of the front free-endpaper is inscribed in pencil 'S. A: H', i.e. S.A. Hart, Librarian of the Royal Academy 1864-81.
