Plate 19 is misnumbered as 18. In Book III plates numbered 3,4 are printed on one sheet from one copper, and so are those numbered 5, 6. Plate 10 is double and folded. - Vol. II: 100 p., civ pl. (on 92 sheets) (14 sheets dble. and fold.). The following plate-numbers have been assigned to single coppers printed on single sheets: 7/8, 13/14, 20/21, 29/30, 35/36/37, 56/57, 76/77, 84/85/86, 87/88/89, 99/100. Responsibility Note
The plates are reprints of those in the French edition of 1726 - which are themselves reprints of those of the 1715-1720 edition but with Book numbers added to the tops of plates. The portrait is signed as painted by Paulus Caliary Veronensis (though in fact it was painted by Sebastiano Ricci) and drawn and engraved by B. Picart. The frontispiece is signed as designed by Sebastianus Riccius and drawn and engraved by B. Picart. Only five plates are signed by a draughtsman (J. Leoni, Bk. I, pl. 38, 41-3, Bk. II pl. 2); but many are signed by their engraver (B. Picart, M. Vdr. Gucht, John Harris, J. Cole).

Summary Note
This is the third edition of N. Dubois's English translation, first published by Leoni between 1715 and 1721. The first edition had been followed by other English translations (Cole and Hoppus's in 1732, and Ware's in 1737), and it was probably in response to Ware's version that this third edition was brought out, enlarged with notes of Inigo Jones and anonymous translations of the L'Antichità di Roma of Palladio and the Fuochi degli antichi of an unknown writer.
Although Jones's notes are imperfectly transcribed, this edition seems to have sold well.
